WANT TO DO BUSINESS IN THE SPANISH-SPEAKING WORLD?

At the College of Charleston, the Business Language Minor in Spanish is designed for students interested in both Spanish language and business studies, and who would like to work in the international business community. Spanish is spoken by over 420 million native speakers worldwide and savvy business leaders know that communicating in the language of their customers improves sales and consumer loyalty. Consider that:

• 82% of people are more likely to buy if promotional material is in their native language.
• 75% of online shoppers are more likely to buy from websites with content in their language.
• 74% are more likely to purchase the same brand again if the after-sales care is in their language.

The Business Language Minor in Spanish is designed for students who would like to combine business studies with their interest in the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, and who are considering working in the international business community. Three of the six courses specifically focus on developing language proficiency and cultural competencies in business environments.

“Speaking the language confers a huge advantage for anyone who wants to do business in a non-English-speaking country, […] It gives you flexibility, knowledge that you need, and personal connections that can make a difference in the speed and effectiveness of your negotiations.”
